Sussex Lantern

Sussex Lantern inspired by the great works of Dr William Moon, continues his innovation in helping blind and disabled people. After losing his sight at the age of twenty-one, he created a new system to read, named after himself, the Moon type. He went on to help many blind people under Brighton society for the blind. This has developed over the years under the Sussex Lantern helping all disabilities, age groups and genders.

Over the years we have developed our caravan and camping site – Southdown Way Caravan and Camping Park – which has enabled people with disabilities to come and camp in a safe well-maintained area alongside able bodied people. This has a huge impact on the well-being of disabled people.

Support us

If you would like to support disabled people, you are able to do so by booking a holiday at our camping and caravanning park. Located at the foot of the Southdown National Park, a wonderful escape from the everyday grind. All camping fees go towards supporting people with disabilities (minus maintenance costs, which we keep to a minimum).

If you would like to support us on your next getaway, please visit the South Downs Way Camping and Caravan Park website to and book your stay with us.
